Camp Sherman Campground

If you haven’t visited the Metolius River area you haven’t seen Oregon. The river springs from its source full blast. When you camp here make sure you visit the source referred to as the Head of the Metolius. Camp Sherman is the first campground that you come to after going through the town of Camp Sherman. Like other nearby campgrounds it is located right on the river. A bicycle is suggested as the best way to visit the area. The Metolious is Fly fishing only.

Smiling River Campground

Smiling River is one of the Metolius Campgrounds. These campgrounds differ from their western Cascade counterparts in many ways, but one important way is that the campsites are more heavily used during the midweek than other areas. However, with ample campsites along the river, it is rare for all the sites to be taken even on the busiest weekend. This is the third campground that you come to as you travel away from Camp Sherman along the river.
